Public Utilities Commission (PUC) Recommends Against Some Conservation Programs
Tuesday, September 30, 2014
Our hat’s off to Oregon’s PUC, which has figured out that some conservation programs no longer make sense. That’s because a glut of natural gas has drastically reduced its price.
The result? Some conservation programs involving the gas now only return two dollars of benefits for every five dollars spent.
We hope that other Oregon agencies take note of the PUC’s concern for taxpayers’ dollars. But we’re not betting on it.
