A Tip of Our Hat – Issue 131

Today we tip our hat to two of Oregon’s finest kids.

Our first tip goes to Oregon Episcopal School senior Vineet Edupugant, who won the nation’s top high school science award (and $100,000) for developing an ingestible battery that allows  doctors to diagnose many conditions affecting internal organs without complex imaging or invasive procedures.

Next we tip to Beaverton 7^th grader Anushka Naiknaware, who won a $15,000 Google scholarship for developing a bandage that measures moisture levels with microscopic monitors that let “medical workers ‘see’ the condition of the dressing.”

All our hats should be off to these 2 great kids!
